AoW on the staff = R1 is caster mode, L2 is melee mode. If you have a lot of spells equipped (which, if you're a mage, you usually will), that ring HUD is more of a pain than it's worth in the heat of battle. The worst thing about this spell is FromSoftware's continuing obsession with their item rings, which really hampers the use of this on mage builds - you're firing away, something gets up close to you, you then have to whirl the ring around to Carian Slicer to switch to melee mode, and then back again once the thing in question either backs off or dies.
Needs to be made into an AoW that you can put on staffs.
